Vocabulary
ADBB: "All done, bye bye." This message was seen on Mulder's cell phone at the end of the episode "Blood." Usually it's used as a sign-off message on the IRC, chat rooms, message boards or anything else.
Angst: Depressing, dark material. A fanfiction genre. This is actually a real word, but used within the Philes world, it's the genre of fanfiction that is evil, dark, depressing, with character deaths, etc.
Babyfic: A fanfiction that deals with Scully's child. A self-explanitory term. It's usually used as a keyword in fanfiction to describe the fic. In a Babyfic, there is usually an exasperated Mulder adjusting to being a father. Amusing fics, they are.
CADF: Campaign Against Diana Fowley. Self-explanatory -- she is evil. This Diana Fowley is bad news for shippers everywhere. This is also a web-based group that has united. BTW, I'm a proud member.
CC: Chris Carter.
CCC: Chris Carter's Creation. Also means Chris Carter Created. For example: CCC most of the X-Files episodes.
CC&Co: Chris Carter and Company. Basically the people who made the X-Files.
CD: Character Death. A keywork used in fanfiction to describe the fic.
Darkside Shipper: Shipper who enjoys posting in the NoRomo folder.
DD: David Duchovny.
DDTeen: A group of teenage David Duchovny fans. A dead term methinks.
Dipper: Scully/Doggett shipper.... YUCKY! (Not the actual person, but the idea of them being together)
Dripper: Doggett/Reyes Shipper
Duchovnik: A fan of David Duchovny.
FanFic: Fantasy Fiction. Stories fans write about The X-files (Or other things)
Fencers: Philes who are neither shippers or NoRomos. Often more interested in other characters than Mulder and Scully.
Finis Shipper: X-Phile who want Mulder and Scully to get together only until the last episode or movie.
Fluff: Light, happy writing or material. This word is used in describing fanfiction, and is usually associated with shippiness.
FTF: Fight the Future. The sub-name for the X-Files movie.
GA: Gillian Anderson.
GAGA: General Admirer(s) of Gillian Anderson.
Gunner: Most common term for describing fans of The Lone Gunmen.
HADAMW: He's All Done And Married With. Refers to David Duchovny and how he's already married and has a daughter. Also spelled "ADAMW". A dissapointing term for female fans. It can also referr to the fact that DD has considered leaving the show.
TLG: Lone Gunmen.
NoRoMo: No Romance Advocates. These are people that don't believe in the Mulder/Scully Romance connection. This is also a genre of fanfiction.
MOHoRo: Majorly Obsessed Hopeless Romantics. An intense 'shipper/ficcer.
MSR: Mulder Scully Romance. Also a genre of fanfiction.
MTA: Mulder Torture Anonymus. Usually a term used in fanfiction, in descibing what the author does to Mulder. I.E. he gets a painful dislocated shoulder, broken bones, he lost his Scully, etc.
Manical Lovestruck Evilness Syndrome: X-Phile who is obsessed with MSR fic, thinks anyone that puts Mulder and Fowley into a fic togther is evil, hates the fact that Duchovny had become so greedy and wanted more money for his role, and thinks CC is evil when he kills anyone close to Scully and Mulder and abducts them. Mytharc: The X-Files' mythology. It's the word people use when referring to the X-Files mythology as an arc in the 8 seasons we've seen.
Rabid Shipper Syndrome: A pervasive syndrome affecting approximately 30% of the X-Philes population. It is characterized by intense, persistent and excessive emotional reactions to The X-Files. This syndrome is frequently accompanied by Acute Mulder Withdrawal and / or severe Chris Carter is Evil Disorder. For more on this, visit HERE!
Ratboy: Krycek's nickname. Internet-based Philes have dubbed Krycek with the nickname "Ratboy" because of his traitor-ish nature. This nickname has gotten quite popular. Relationshippers:Shippers. Those who know, love, and encourage the blossoming relationship between the two main characters. In other words, we want Mulder and Scully ta' fall in love, although we think they already did!
Relationshipper: A person who believes in the Mulder and Scully relationship. A person who believe they make the CUTEST couple and should get together.
Ro: Romance. The shorter word used to describe a genre of fan fiction.
RP: Robert Patrick.
Shipper: see Relationshippers. It's the shorter and the more used word for Relationshippers.
SPAK: Society for the Protection of Alex Krycek. The wonderful group of people who believe in the protection of our Ratboy.
SPCDD: Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to David Duchovny. This is the group of people against David-bashers.
SPCJD: Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to John Doggett. The people who protect the new main character of the show.
SRE: Scully's Rational Explanation. Plural: SREs
TLG: The Lone Gunmen. That could mean either the group or the show.
TPTB: The Powers That Be. It's... TPTB, man! They are the great force behind the making of the X-Files.
TXF: The X-Files.
V&C: Vulnerable and Cute. Also spelled "VC". A term used by female fans (such as myself :) ) to describle Mulder's condition. For example, after Mulder is shot and in the hospital, his weakened condition would be V&C. Also used to describe a mood or state he's in. I.E. if he's talking to Scully and he says something cute, he'll be V&C orif he's crying. Can we all say "Awwwww!" ^_^
X-Phile: A knowledgeable X-Files fan. Plural: X-Philes. Also an extremely dedicated X-Files fan.
YAXA: Yet another X-Files acronym. Plural: YAXAs. Used when a person discovers another X-Files acronym or anything in particular. Much as one would say "Bingo!"
